Our approach
Ayurveda deserved a higher standard of evidence
Ayurveda has described these herbs, and what they are for, for a very long time. That part was never the problem. The problem is what happened between the formula and the bottle.
Buy an Ayurvedic supplement today and you often cannot tell how much active ingredient is in it, whether this batch matches the last one, or whether anyone independent has checked it for heavy metals. The tradition gets the blame for a manufacturing and disclosure failure.
myxveda exists to close that gap. We make a small range of formulations from standardised plant extracts, publish the full formula and the dose, and have every batch tested by a laboratory that does not work for us. Same herbs, same intent, held to the standard any other thing you swallow daily is held to.
How a myxveda formula is made
Four steps, in order. Each one exists to remove a reason you would have to take our word for something.
We start from the classical formula
Each product begins with herbs that classical Ayurveda already describes for that purpose, and with the proportions those texts use. We publish the full formula and the weight of every herb on the product page, so you can read what you are taking before you buy it.
We standardise the extract
Raw powdered herb varies with the season, the soil and the harvest. A standardised extract does not: it is concentrated to a known strength, so the same capsule delivers the same dose this month and next. Our extracts are concentrated 10x, which is why a single capsule can carry a research-informed dose without being bulked out with filler.
We test every batch, through someone else
Each batch goes to an independent, third-party laboratory for purity and potency — including testing for heavy-metal contamination. Testing our own work and reporting the result ourselves would be worth very little, so we do not.
We manufacture under GMP
Blending, encapsulation and packing happen in a facility that follows Good Manufacturing Practices, with the documentation and batch traceability that implies. Our formulations are AYUSH registered.
What we leave out, and why
A formulation is defined as much by what is not in it. These are the four decisions we will not revisit.
No Bhasma or Kajli
Some traditional Ayurvedic preparations are made by calcining metals — mercury, lead, arsenic — into an ash. Whatever the tradition behind them, they are the single biggest reason Ayurvedic supplements show up in heavy-metal recalls. We use none of them, anywhere in the range.
No restricted Schedule E(1) ingredients
Schedule E(1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules lists the Ayurvedic substances that carry a mandatory caution. Our formulations are built without them, so these are everyday wellness products rather than something you should only take under supervision.
No hidden formula
No proprietary blends, no “herbal complex” hiding the proportions. Every ingredient is named with its weight per capsule, and the totals add up in public.
No filler padding the capsule
Concentrated extract is expensive and filler is cheap, which is why so many capsules are mostly the latter. Ours are formulated to carry actives, and we are explicit about the dose.
What that means on every pack
- 3rd party lab tested
- AYUSH registered formula
- GMP certified facility
- 100% pure plant extracts
- Zero bhasmas and metals
- No restricted Schedule E(1) ingredient
We would rather be conservative about what a supplement can do and precise about what is in it than the other way round. You will not find a claim on this site that a formulation treats or cures anything — read the FAQ for where we draw that line.
